The applicant for admission to the Master"s Degree in INDUSTRIAL SAFETY WITH SPECIALISATION IN OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD PREVENTION of the Postgraduate Unit of the State Technical University of Quevedo must meet the following requirements:
- a. A third level degree in Industrial Safety and Health Engineering, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Agroindustrial Engineer (or other).
Agro-industrial Engineer (or others who have the necessary basis to study this programme) registered in the
SENESCYT in relation to the Master"s degree.
- b. Experience and interest in deepening technical-professional knowledge in the field of Occupational Risk Prevention.
- c. Proactive attitude to accelerate interactive programmes in the technical-professional and research processes in engineering.
- d. Understanding, reading and translating the English language.
- e. Basic handling of scientific information.
Overall Objective
To train fourth-level professionals with the ability to develop projects in the field of Industrial Safety for any industrial or manufacturing company, using the most sophisticated and modern technology available in the field.
Specific Objectives
- Develop new practices of technological research in the area of Occupational Risk Prevention applied to process and manufacturing industries.
- Provide skills for work development and necessary tools to integrate into the company"s assigned role within a specialized team, assume responsibilities, and make autonomous decisions about the activities to be carried out. Manage tasks to optimize time to the maximum.
- Create scenarios for the master"s research and innovation plans to address specific issues in technological sectors related to Occupational Risks.
- Control, understand, and evaluate chemical, carcinogenic, and biological agents involved in the production process.
- Have in-depth knowledge of specific risks in concrete activities and the most concerning sectors of occupational accidents.
- Analyze and assess the risk of accidents by controlling specific risks: machinery, equipment, installations and tools, workplaces, handling, storage and transportation, electricity, fires, etc.
- Appreciate the issues posed by the proper management of Industrial Safety from ethical and professional principles, such as respect for environmental care, as well as instill values of respect for cultural diversity, ancestral knowledge, intercultural technologies, and maintain an honest, disciplined, and professional performance in line with the National Development Plan 2017-2021: A Whole Life.
