It is aimed at professionals with a third-level degree registered in the National Information System of Higher Education of Ecuador, preferably in: administration, finance, accounting, economics, journalism, communication, law, civil engineering, industrial engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, sociology, anthropology, tourism, education, and computer systems.
Postgraduates who graduate from the Master"s in Local Development, with a specialisation in Planning, Development and Land Management, or in Social and Solidarity Economy, will consolidate their knowledge in the local development process, demonstrating the following capabilities:
KNOWLEDGE:
Describes the cultural diversity, economic, political, and social environment at the local level, contextualising conceptions, knowledge, and the worldview of sustainable development, based on interculturality and the contribution to the well-being of peoples, through the application of methodologies and tools for transforming economic and social reality, from a humanistic perspective of the earth and the human being, analysing each of the conceptual aspects.
KNOW-HOW:
Interprets the issues of the territory, resource management, and local dynamics, with a handle on the legal framework related to local development management in urban and rural areas; planning local development processes from a sustainability approach, with prospective techniques and taking into account the interculturality of the territory; carries out evaluations of public and private projects in the territory based on planned economic, social, and natural indicators. Designs policies that stimulate the development of the social and solidarity economy according to local, regional, and national realities. Applies quantitative and qualitative research methods in the study of the social and solidarity economy.
KNOWLEDGE OF UNDERSTANDING:
Explains theoretical-conceptual aspects of economic, social, and political dynamics at the local level, with the appropriate orientation of sustainable development, sensitised to the multicultural dynamics of the country, spaces for meeting and constructing proposals for social and knowledge networks; defining each of the development processes of the social and solidarity economy sector, interpreting the issues of social and solidarity enterprises within the framework of sustainable local development. Describes social and solidarity economy models for their application in sustainable local development policy, and investigates the behaviour of organisations in the social and solidarity economy sector to contribute to their efficiency and effectiveness.
BEING:
Acts with a humanistic conduct, contributing to development in the territory through the application of ethical principles and values of respect for nature and society, linking ancestral knowledge to development processes and responsible citizen participation in the social and solidarity economy, associativity, and teamwork in the development of organisations in the social and solidarity economy sector.
To train professionals specialised in sustainable local development processes, with theoretical and practical mastery of policies, local strategies and cooperation values within the framework of citizen participation and the socio-economic development of localities.
