Master in Aquaculture

To be a third-level professional in the areas of:

  • Aquaculture Engineer.
  • Biologist.
  • Zootechnical Engineer.
  • Veterinary Doctor.
  • Agricultural Engineer.
  • Other third level degrees immersed in the area of aquaculture.

The Professional Master Degree in Aquaculture will be able to complement the interrelationship between the management and conservation of aquatic resources-environment-society-economy, in a context of knowledge generation based on the ancestral knowledge of Ecuadorian culture and technologies, with a scientific-technical, conservation, ecological, technological, production, complex and systemic approach to aquaculture species.

Drafting documents in a scientific and advanced manner, taking advantage of computer tools to manipulate and interpret large amounts of data in order to support the assurance, management and control of the management and conservation of aquatic resources. Apply computerised statistical methods to systems or processes related to the management and conservation of aquatic resources.

Determine the productive potential of crops of economic interest through the implementation of productive projects adapted to local conditions and allowing for the responsible management and conservation of aquatic resources. Apply innovative, economically viable techniques in the design and implementation of cultivation, management, nutrition and health projects in aquatic resource management and conservation systems of economic interest.

To provide students with advanced, specific and multidisciplinary training oriented towards academic, research and professional training in aquaculture, with tools to solve problems due to the loss of ecological biodiversity, the contamination of ecosystems, inadequate management of regulations, economics and marketing related to production, exploitation, management and conservation of aquatic living resources, because a global and specialised integrated vision is required to achieve greater efficiency in aquatic production processes and thus achieve food security, conserving natural resources and the environment in aquaculture, management and conservation of living aquatic resources, because a global and specialised integrated vision is required to achieve greater efficiency in aquatic production processes and thus achieve food security, conserving natural resources and the environment in the ecosystem, contributing to the needs and development of the productive matrix within the context of the country, region, province and community.
