Graduate Profile:
Upon completion of the study program, it is expected that the master"s graduate will be able to:
- Undertake professional activities in the field of preservation, recovery, and sustainable management of forest resources, through university teaching, scientific research, social promotion, and independent professional practice, as an expert, consultant, or advisor.
- Conduct research and development projects in the forestry field, aimed at improving the quality of life in the community.
- Apply research principles and techniques for the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the forestry field. Lead participatory activities compatible with forest management, promoting improvement in the social sectors where they carry out their professional work.
General objective
To prepare future leaders in sustainable forest management, problem identification, design and implementation of forestry innovations to enhance land productivity, ensuring the conservation of renewable resources in strategic areas.
Specific objectives.
- To develop in professionals, skills, abilities and knowledge for the harvesting, protection, conservation and sustainable management of tropical forests, under national and international standards of forest certification.
- To promote interdisciplinary participation in the management of forest systems through research and/or development projects.
- To prepare professionals at local and regional level who value the environmental impacts historically generated by human activities of forest exploitation, within a framework of dialogue of knowledge, interculturalism and respect for the rights of the good life.
- Promote knowledge in the forestry field based on the application of the competence approach as a study methodology, so that graduates can participate efficiently in the processes of establishment and management of natural forests and plantations.
