Mission

Promote and provide the opportunity to study dance and its different genres to students who are part of the UTEQ, awakening in the student population the interest in the study of this art, to develop their capacity for expression and their artistic performances, raising their creativity to the maximum, encouraging their integration into the professional artistic field.

Vision

To provide an education of excellence in the art of dance, developing the skills and talents of the student, fostering respect for art, fellowship and creativity. The student is projected into the world of work as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, historian, critic, designer, as well as in other branches related to the performing arts.

Objectives

General

To show the benefits and importance of dance in relation to personality development in art linked to the formation of culture in the general community.

Specific

• To teach the richness of classical and neoclassical dance, keeping alive the essence of dance as well as classical music.
• To rescue the expression of coastal folkloric dance.
• To learn about the national and international idiosyncrasy, wealth, legacy and cultural heritage through dance and the different cultural manifestations.
• Strengthen the sense of belonging and love for the Institution through the development of activities that experience teamwork and promote values of tolerance, responsibility, respect, union, fraternity and belonging.
