Objectives

General

Promote artistic-musical values that enhance the cultural and social development of the University community, strengthening the development of students and encouraging musical practices, through actions such as: performing, listening, creating, teaching, researching, disseminating, managing, whose synergy causes effects of cultural impact on local, national and international society.

Specific

• Making music in pursuit of artistic excellence.
• To contribute to the professionalisation of the role of the musician, offering academic training programmes in accordance with the needs of the city and the country.
• To constitute an academic platform for the construction of knowledge and support for the dissemination of music.
• To involve students through active participation in systematic musical training and recruitment processes.
• Establish exchange networks and engage musicians of high professional trajectory, Ecuadorian and foreign, that contribute to strengthen the training, dissemination and research processes of the School of Music.
• To promote the innovation of pedagogical strategies in the area of musical education that have an impact on local and national cultural development.
• To propose, stimulate and advise cultural initiatives in the field of music and education, which constitute an effective contribution to local and national cultural development.
