It is dedicated to the preparation of tests through the manipulation of samples of biological origin to obtain new patterns for the study of microorganisms, in accordance with technical and biosafety standards to identify the aetiological agent of an infection and to determine susceptibility to certain anti-microbial agents. In addition, it gives way to the development of student practices aimed at the discovery of new technologies for the analysis of microorganisms, with applicability in the different multidisciplinary fields of the institution. Integrating advances in the research of molecules, metabolic networks, cells and tissues, whole organisms, populations and ecosystems, interacting with other fields such as engineering, computer science, physics and chemistry.

It is a support unit for the development of experiments and training practices in the academic and research areas of the different study programmes offered by the university. One of its purposes is to offer spaces for the benefit of students and teachers in student internships and research projects. The laboratory has equipment and materials to carry out all the practices designated during the semester and with a schedule of activities. It is focused on three main orientations: academic experimentation, applied and formative research.

The laboratory is used by students of the Zootechnics and Agriculture degree courses.
Activities carried out:
