FOCICYT Call for proposals

The Research Directorate of the State Technical University of Quevedo, calls upon the university community to submit Research or Innovation Projects to be developed with institutional resources.

This initiative corresponds to the Evaluation Model of CACES (2023) and PEDI-UTEQ 2021 - 2025, which seeks to promote research through research groups and interaction in national and international networks linked to the University"s research lines and sub-lines. Additionally, it contributes to solving local or national problems by disseminating scientific knowledge through the publication of books and scientific articles.

Research projects must be mainly presented in the field of knowledge:

Broad field: Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Veterinary

Main items in the UTEQ"s area of influence: Hard maize, cocoa, rice, banana, livestock, forestry, and aquaculture.

Additionally, proposals for research projects addressing relevant local and national issues, articulating substantive functions and allowing for the use of the research potential of teachers and students in the following areas (SENESCYT, 2022) will be accepted:

The basic or applied research/innovation projects winners of the Tenth FOCICYT Call will have funding of up to $10,000 according to the following evaluation criteria: Scientific-technical quality, relevance and feasibility of the proposal; Scientific-technical and social impact of the proposal; Quality, trajectory, and suitability of the research team; Research with external funding, agreement, or network; Budget according to the requirements of the Public Procurement Service; Presented by a research group of the UTEQ.

Applicants are requested to carefully read the Bases of this call and comply correctly with the Registration Form.

UP TO USD $10,000.00 (ten thousand US dollars with 00/100) will be funded, of which up to $2,000.00 dollars can be used for field activities, participation in congresses, seminars, research internships at universities or research centers, and invited researchers.
For research assistants (undergraduate or graduate students), a participation certificate will be issued.

Research with external funding, agreement, or network 10%
Budget according to the requirements of the Public Procurement Service. 10%
Presented by a research group of the UTEQ 5%
