The Tenth Latin American Congress of Agronomy 'Natural Resources for Sustainable Agriculture' was closed with a massive attendance.


Organised by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences on its Thirty-Fifth Anniversary.

Approximately 650 people from various institutions, companies and universities of the country attended this academic event that took place from 17 to 19 July in the auditorium Ing. Carlos Cortaza González of the UTEQ.
The congress was attended by speakers from countries such as Cuba, Belgium, Peru, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Ecuador, who addressed topics such as: Good Agricultural Practices, Biotechnology applied to agriculture, Agroecology, Pressure Irrigation System, Use of agricultural machinery, among others.
The event was aimed at students, teachers, professionals and agricultural producers; it lasted 40 hours and was supported by the Centre for Research and Development of Ecuador (CIDE).
Leonardo Matute, dean of the Faculty, said that "We are internationalising our university, so we have invited speakers from several countries in order to present an event of international quality, with a topic of interest to an area as important as agriculture".
