The Psychology Area of the UTEQ seeks to promote the human development of students from a right-based approach.
Gender, welfare, intercultural, intergenerational and inclusive, to achieve the participation, permanence and completion of the academic studies of university students, guaranteeing their personal, social and emotional development within the higher education system..
In this area we carry out: Interviews, diagnoses, and psycho-pedagogical, psychological and emotional crisis intervention.

Since December 1, 2021, Yossetty Romero Zambrano, Educational Psychologist and Vocational Counsellor, has been in charge of the Psychology area at UTEQ. She obtained her professional degree from the Technical University of Babahoyo, Quevedo extension. She has given motivational talks to private companies and worked as a psychologist and teacher at the Quevedo Municipal School.
Romero says she plans to give priority to family and social issues presented by students, teachers, employees and workers.
"I love being able to help people overcome or deal with issues that may affect their daily lives. That's why I am ready to listen to any kind of concern or problem that the university community presents to me," said the psychologist.
