In a solemn virtual session, the Faculty of Livestock Sciences celebrated its twenty-ninth anniversary of creation.

The event was broadcast live on the social networks of the University of Quevedo and was attended by directors and career coordinators of this academic unit.

Gerardo Segovia, dean, gave his report of work 2019-2020, in which he mentioned that during the first semester of this year, due to the health emergency, the FCP had to face and adapt to the changes caused by the global pandemic of Covid - 19, such as leaving the model of face-to-face classes and taking the challenge of the virtual ones. To this end, training was provided to teachers on the management of virtual platforms, video recordings and some other activities that were new for teachers who were used to sharing their teachings in a technical way with students.

The Livestock teaching staff is made up of 71 teachers, of which 32 are tenured and 39 have occasional contracts. During the pandemic, 3 teachers were awarded doctoral degrees, which will further strengthen the academic training in this faculty. In addition, virtual training sessions were held during the curricular day of the first and second academic periods, with national and foreign professionals.

In the research function, 54 projects were approved in the seventh Focicyt call for proposals, 26 of which belong to the Faculty of Livestock Sciences.
