UTEQ and Fundación Maquita in Agroecological Entrepreneurship Conference

The UTEQ, through the Directorate of Outreach, and the Maquita Foundation developed the Days of Sustainable Agroecological Enterprises Ecuador 2017.


Under the slogan "Let's join hands to market as brothers".

This conference was held in the auditorium of the Business Science Department on 13 July, where certificates were issued with the support of the Canarian Institute of Agricultural Research (ICIA) and the government of the Canary Islands, Spain. Students of the UTEQ and farmers' organisations from the province of Los Ríos that have a relationship with the aforementioned institutions took part in the event. The organisation and development of the event is based on a framework cooperation agreement signed between UTEQ and the Maquita Foundation, which establishes cooperation scenarios for technical and academic assistance, with the strategic objective of developing a linkage system that promotes the social, economic, cultural and technological improvement of the area of influence. The conference included conferences with the participation of experts, among them María Jesús Pérez and Celso Averos from the Maquita Foundation; Ann Woolfson, delegate of the Undersecretary of Forest Protection; José Porcuna, from the University of La Laguna; Carmen Jaizme, from ICIA; and Carlos Belezaca from UTEQ.

Also, outside the auditorium "D" of the Faculty of Business Studies, stands and experiential scenarios of the activities carried out by the participating institutions were exhibited.
