UTEQ will hold the First Online Absolute Chess Tournament

Under the "Online" modality, the State Technical University of Quevedo, through the University Welfare Unit, will hold the First Absolute Chess Tournament.


The competition will take place this 11 July 2020 from 15h00 through Lichess.org, a free chess server that allows online play.

Students and teachers of UTEQ will be able to participate in the tournament; registrations will be made until July 10 (23h00) and are completely free through the platform lichess.org.

The winner will receive a Premium month of Chess24 account (another chess server) and study material.

The game will be played in seven-round Swiss format, and the pace of the game will be 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.

This event will be streamed live on the university's social media.
