The data, which was published by the organisation on its website www.gastopublico.org in previous days, was welcomed by the authorities and the university community of the UTEQ, as it shows that the Alma Mater of Quevedo has a responsible management of the resources allocated by the Ecuadorian state.

Nevertheless, Eduardo Díaz, rector of the institution, stated that the excellent position of the UTEQ in this report could be even better when reviewing the reports presented to the Ministry of Finance. He argued that in the last four years, the university has had the following figures in its budget execution: 97.29 (2016), 98.29 (2017), 93.42 (2018), and 98.42 (2019), which represents an average of 96.86.

In any case, the Observatory's report highlights the merited administrative management of public affairs by the university authorities, demonstrating that it is possible to efficiently and effectively fulfil the substantive functions of higher education institutions enshrined in the law, within the framework of the proper and rational use of resources and in the perspective of transcending and projecting itself as a university of excellence.
