Guadalupe Murillo, academic vice-rector, opened the event, followed by a speech by Ana Lucía Ruano, representative of the Council for Evaluation, Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (CEAACES).

"We are going to continue working together with you, for a university that is more democratic, scientific, technical and more popular every day, at the service of the Ecuadorian people", concluded Eduardo Díaz in his speech. En esta ceremonia se entregó reconocimiento a: Roque Vivas Moreira, Academic Merit; Juan Reyes Pérez, Fernando Abasolo Pacheco, Eduardo Díaz Ocampo, Yarellis Ferrer Sánchez, Yuniel Méndez Martínez, Cristhian Zambrano Vega, Byron Oviedo Vayas, Amilkar Puris Cáceres, Mariana Reyes Bermeo and Pavel Novoa Hernández were recognised as Scientific Merit; Also awarded was the Best linking project presented by Miriam Cárdenas Zea.

Recognition was also given to the most supportive cooperating entity, the Autonomous Decentralised Municipal Government of Mocache, represented by Mayor Leando Ullon Rodríguez; Best on-site student: Ana Rizzo Alarcón; Best blended student: Indira Escobar Terán; Best work performance: Employee of the year Yuny Arevalo Tobar, and Worker of the year Javier Párraga Carranza.

Moreover, the solemn event was also marked by artistic presentations that delighted those present.
