UTEQ classified with two projects to the final Senescyt Awards 2017

The projects of UTEQ students qualified to the final phase of the National Awards Competition promoted by the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Senescyt.


In the competition, UTEQ presented five projects for the qualifying phase of the Zonal 5-8, which are: "Wireless sensor networks for early detection of forest fires" by Cinthia Solís López and María Belén Vicuña from the Telematics course directed by Dr. Byron Oviedo and Eng. Byron Oviedo and Eng. Emilio Zhuma; ¨Bromatological and microbiological characterisation of flour based on cocoa shells for the production of biscuits¨, by the student Rosa Romero Rojas, from the Food Engineering course, directed by Eng. Jaime Vera Chang; "Mucílago de cacao nacional y trinitario para la obtención de una bebida hidratante", by the student Katherine Santana from the Food Engineering course; "Población microbiana durante el proceso de fermentación de cacao mediante la adición de musáceas" by the student Gina Rivera Benítes, from the Agriculture and Livestock course, also directed by Eng. Jaime Vera; "Alcoholic drink of the Tommy mango wine type with the use of two sweeteners", by Willer Nieto Huacón, student of Food Engineering, directed by Jorge Quintana. The competition took place at the University of Guayaquil on 17 July, where UTEQ students presented their research. The works of the students Willer Nieto and Gina Rivera, were shortlisted for the grand final that will take place in Guayaquil on 14 September.
