Despite the current difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic, UTEQ does not stop in its quest for academic excellence.

During this time, its authorities, directors, teachers, employees and workers have been developing new strategies for the effective fulfilment of all its substantive functions, which means that they have acquired a greater commitment to society.

As proof of this, the Higher Education Council (CES) has approved 28 degree courses, 21 of which are currently being offered. It is also planned to continue with the process of improving the physical infrastructure: the construction of a hangar for the engineering courses, a library, and the third floor of the building of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences on the "La María" campus. This is so that once this crisis (pandemic) has been overcome, we can return to the university premises with a modern and functional infrastructure.

As for the return of classes, these will begin on June 1, for which the academic platform, SGA, has been implemented in a better way and the teachers have received an intense training process on the use and management of computer applications for academic activities. For this new academic period there are a total of 9157 students enrolled; 205 non-tenured professors and 160 tenured professors who will be in charge of the online classes.
