With the aim of socialising health prevention and family planning actions, the UTEQ Health Department gave talks.
University students from the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences and from the leveling course received talks.
Mirian Loor, a doctor at the UTEQ, said that this talk focused more on women, as they are the ones who most need information on family planning, unwanted pregnancy and prevention of sexual diseases. The conference was held over two days (morning and afternoon) on 22 November.
In addition, Loor said that this type of lecture has already been given to students of the other faculties of the UTEQ. "The health area wants to orient and bring information to the students due to the high rate of unwanted pregnancies and it is very important to provide this type of training to inform and educate the student community. Dr. Eddie Carranza, an obstetrician and gynaecologist from Laboratorios Chile, was the professional who led the talk and had a discussion with the students where she guided them and cleared up certain doubts regarding the topics discussed.
