This sporting event organised by the UTEQ was held from 8 to 10 June and was attended by 10 universities. The northern students won 1st place in Athletics category over 35 years; Female Forty, Male Swimming under 35, Female Swimming over 36, Female Swimming under 35 and Female Ecuavoley; reason for which they earned the title of Olympic Champion of the 2017 FENATUPE games. UTEQ, for its part, achieved 2nd place in gold medals in the categories of Football, Men's Ecuavolley, Men's Basketball and Women's Athletics. The inauguration of this sporting event took place on June 8th in the 7 de Octubre stadium with the presence of university authorities and directors of the National Federation of University Workers. The Rector of the UTEQ, Eduardo Díaz, intervened to declare the games open, while the sporting oath was taken by former professional footballer Guillermo Jaramillo. The games were held in different sports complexes and courts in Quevedo and Valencia. On Friday at the central campus of the UTEQ the integration night called "Noche Quevedeña" was held with the performance of renowned artists of our environment. The final competitions in various disciplines were held in the city of Valencia, followed by the awarding of trophies and medals. Elena Moreira, President of the UTEQ employees' association, said "the important thing about these Olympics is the integration between the employees and workers of the different delegations". In the overall classification by winning gold medals in the disciplines of Football, Men's Ecuavoley, Men's Basketball and Women's Athletics.

A total of 10 universities took part in this national sports event which, as always, had the aim of bringing together the employees and workers of the country's higher education institutions.
