UTEQ will return to face-to-face classes on 24 May. This modality will be applied to all the degrees of its different faculties.

For the return to on-site classes, the University of Quevedo has prepared a return plan, which consists of complying with biosecurity protocols. During this First Academic Period 2022-2023, it is planned to receive more than twelve thousand students between the two campuses: Central and La María. Both campuses have new infrastructure that will be handed over to the university community during the inauguration ceremony to be held on each campus.

To welcome the students, the UTEQ authorities have planned a welcoming ceremony on May 24th at the Central Campus and May 25th at the La María Campus.

Yenny Torres, academic vice-rector, commented that UTEQ has the necessary conditions for the return of 100% of the courses. "We are working hard to welcome our students, it fills us with joy to return, after two years of virtuality we are excited to have them back on university premises," said Torres.

For his part, Eduardo Díaz, rector, mentioned that the return to face-to-face sessions has been a decision taken in accordance with what has been agreed with Senescyt and CACES, who have announced that due to the decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in Ecuador, the return of students to the face-to-face academic teaching-learning process has been approved. "We are very happy and excited to see each other again, we are looking forward to the return to classes on 24 May," said the rector.
