Senescyt held a panel on Popular Consultation in UTEQ

Senescyt and UTEQ coordinated a panel discussion on 'Democracy, Renewal and Participation' to discuss the contents of the popular consultation.


The panel was held at the university's sports centre on 18 January at 15h00. The event began with a welcoming speech by Dr. Eduardo Díaz Ocampo, rector of the university, the rector of the university and then continued with the arguments of the guests invited to the analysis programme. The panel included José Luis Rivera, lecturer at UTEQ, Erika Zamora, student representative to the University Council, who presented their arguments to guide the vote in the next popular consultation. This was followed by Ximena Ponce León, General Undersecretary for Science, Technology and Innovation, who also gave a guiding approach with regard to the citizens' decision to vote in the next democratic event to be held at the University.
in view of the next democratic event to be held on 4 February. After the presentations of the panelists, a forum for questions was opened with the participation of students, teachers and the general public, teachers and citizens in general who attended the programme. Ximena Ponce congratulated the UTEQ for
generating these spaces for discussion in which citizens and the university community, especially, can learn and express different points of view in relation to such an important topic as the referendum.
