The Agroindustry degree course started the Linkage project "Use of agricultural raw materials to produce agroindustrial products in the areas of influence of the UTEQ".

The project involves 75 students who train community representatives and staff of the Municipality of Empalme, Lotización Madeleine, and San Camilo.

Through the project, the beneficiaries learn how to use agricultural raw materials to produce agro-industrial products.

The project aims to promote the development of food and non-food products; to guide in procedures for the generation of products; and to develop good manufacturing practices.

Jose Villarroel, director of the linkage project, indicates that they focus on providing training to develop skills that contribute to motivate and improve the level of knowledge of the inhabitants of the rural and urban sector of Quevedo and its areas of influence. "One of the activities of this component is to promote the generation of family and/or community micro-enterprises, since at the end of the training phase the participants should have developed skills and abilities in the transformation of raw materials of agricultural origin to obtain added value, so they will be in a position to determine possible enterprises," said Villarroel.
