Jaime Morante, director of the Scientific Journal of the UTEQ, announced that thanks to the openness of the UTEQ authorities, the IT department, the research department and the editorial group, the journal Ciencia y Tecnología has the OJS, a system that seeks to accelerate access to the dissemination of research content produced by teachers and researchers.

The implementation of this software will allow the efficient and unified management of the editorial process and will facilitate the access (in full text) of published scientific content.

Morante added that UTEQ's scientific journal, in addition to the international scientific databases in which it is indexed, has been able to access DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), therefore, from January 2017, the journal will join the option of continuous publications, which means that the articles that pass the arbitration process (double blind) can be uploaded, from OJS, to the website without having to wait for the printed version of the journal.

This obviously generates a greater dynamic in the reception of manuscripts, as well as reducing the time it takes to review and publish articles, without affecting the quality of our publications, explained Jaime Morante.

The director of the scientific journal of the UTEQ, indicated that these efforts are managed with the aim of reaching the SCOPUS goal in 2017.

Dr Morante concluded by informing that in the coming days there will be a new scientific journal in the area of social sciences and economics, which will join the domain revistas.uteq.edu.ec required for indexing in scientific databases. The new journal will be directed by Dr. Alba Rosa Pupo.
