In order to expose the general frameworks of the institutional evaluation processes of universities and polytechnic schools, within the framework of the new Institutional Evaluation Policy according to the LOES 2018.

The rector of UTEQ Dr. Eduardo Díaz welcomed the president of CACE and highlighted the importance of the accompaniment of organizations such as CACES in the processes of continuous improvement of the quality of higher education.

During this visit, Gabriel Galarza, head of CACES, assured that, in the context of the reform to the Organic Law of Higher Education - LOES - it has been determined through the First Transitory Provision that CACES, within one hundred and eighty days of the coming into force of said law, will establish the models that will include criteria and standards that Higher Education Institutions - HEIs - must comply with for the evaluation process with and without accreditation purposes, and, moreover, the fourteenth transitory provision of the new regulations establishes that within eighteen months from the effective date of the LOES, the CACES shall carry out the institutional evaluation of universities and polytechnic schools.

The working meeting with the president of CACES was attended by UTEQ authorities and directors such as the academic vice-rector, administrative vice-rector, deans, sub-deans, career coordinators and departmental directors. The president of the internal evaluation and quality assurance commission of the UTEQ, Dr. Raúl Díaz, made a brief summary of the institutional self-evaluation processes and the actions developed to overcome the weaknesses and strengthen the successes in order to fulfill its institutional mission.
