Curricular day of the second academic period was held in UTEQ

Teachers of the State Technical University of Quevedo during the month of October attended the curricular and training sessions of the second academic period of the year 2018-2019.


The training sessions were held from 10 to 29 October in the different facilities of the University of Quevedo, and were run by the Human Resources Unit and the Public Company Prodeuteq in order to comply with the Academic Improvement Plan for teachers of the institution approved by the OCAS.

At the opening of the workshops, Guadalupe Murillo, deputy rector of UTEQ, welcomed the teachers to this new academic period, while Washington Chiriboga, academic director, was in charge of explaining the characteristics of the training.

These days were programmed in several groups: From 11 to 19 October, the workshops "Didactics of Higher Education" and "Methodology of Learning and Research in Higher Education" were held; from 15 to 19 October, the course-workshop " TIC’s and learning styles"; from 22 to 26 October, the training topics were "Development of Digital Competences in University Teachers", "Research Methodology" and "Training in professional areas"; and on 29 October, the topic "Induction in the Use of the Academic Management System".

These courses were given by national and foreign experts: Teresa Torres Miranda, Abelardo López Domínguez and Francisco Pérez álvarez from Cuba; José Benavides Peña and Juan José Cardona from Colombia; Vasilica María Margalina from Romania; and Evelin Cires Quinteros, Gustavo Galio Molina and Eliecer Campos Cárdenas from Ecuador.

María Edilma Párraga, director of the Human Talent Unit, indicated that these courses will allow UTEQ teachers to strengthen their competences with the use of important didactic techniques that favour the learning of the students of the University of Quevedo.
