The State Technical University of Quevedo, through the Incuba UTEQ Group, held the First Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the aim of encouraging the student community.


Their entrepreneurial spirit and the realisation of a series of projects and ideas that arise from the academic activities developed in the classroom.

These conferences were held on 8, 9 and 10 August in auditoriums C and D of the Faculty of Business Sciences, and were attended by officials from institutions such as Senescyt, Mipro, IEPS, Prefecture of Los Ríos, Banecuador and MIES. Teachers from UTEQ, Espol and the University of Havana, Cuba, also participated in the conference. The speakers told their stories and motivated the participants to innovate or create products in which the community can find solutions to their diverse needs. During these days, training talks were given to encourage students to make their projects a reality, start businesses and create new companies or sources of employment. Roberto Pico, Administrative Vice-Rector and Coordinator of the event, indicated that during the conference the official launch of the "Reto UTEQ Innova" contest was held, where students who wish to participate with their innovation and entrepreneurship projects can register through the Senescyt website using the established forms. This internal contest is already under development and UTEQ has committed to give $ 3,000 to the winner of this contest of student innovation and entrepreneurship.
