In order to give a modern and sophisticated image to its architecture, the State Technical University of Quevedo began the remodelling of its main auditorium 'Ing: Carlos Cortaza González'.


The work, which began in mid-November, will be ready by 1 February 2018, the date on which the 34th anniversary of the creation of the UTEQ will be celebrated. The auditorium, which previously held 300 people, will increase its capacity to 580 with the refurbishment, including a stalls that will hold 180 people in the upper part of the building.

The modern auditorium will have new sanitary facilities for men and women, double entrance to the upper level, dressing rooms, upholstered furniture, carpeted corridors, lighting system, air conditioners, upholstered walls and ceiling.

Gerson Robayo, Head of Planning at the State Technical University of Quevedo, indicated that this work had been planned several months ago and that thanks to the support of the authorities it is now becoming a reality.
