These are the most relevant actions developed in 2017 highlighted by Dr. Eduardo Díaz, rector of the UTEQ in his work report delivered to the university community on the last working day of this year.

The first university authority highlighted, in his report, that thanks to the implementation of more than 40 research projects, the scientific production of the university has increased substantially, which means that several goals are being met in this function.

He also highlighted as important achievements this year the execution of several physical works, including the adequacy of administrative offices such as the Evaluation Units, Academic Planning, Human Resources, Library, and especially the construction of the Sports Centre which has two multipurpose courts, a synthetic turf field, bathrooms, locker rooms, green areas, bar and parking.

Another important physical work is undoubtedly the enlargement and remodelling of the Auditorium "Ing. Carlos Cortaza" which will have a capacity for 580 people, as well as new toilets and other complementary works on the floor and walls. Eduardo Diaz also said that this 2017 year has ended with an excellent budgetary health and by virtue of this it has been possible to give funding for doctoral studies to more than 30 teachers of the institution who are scholarship holders of the university to achieve their improvement and training at the highest level.

The work report was delivered on 22 December last at the university's sports centre by the rector Eduardo Díaz in the presence of teachers, management staff, employees and workers, management staff, employees and workers, in compliance with the provisions of the law. In detailing the report, the rector highlighted the support of each of the academic units that have worked hard this year to make UTEQ an institution of academic excellence.
