Inauguration of the linking project with the GAD Municipal de Quevedo (Quevedo Municipal Government)

Students of Industrial Safety and Occupational Health inaugurated the project 'Development of emergency plans in the municipal schools of the city of Quevedo'.


The event took place on 28 June in the auditorium of the Ciudadela Municipal de Quevedo "Simón Bolívar", in the presence of cantonal authorities, teachers and students of the UTEQ.

This project aims to train students from four municipal schools in Quevedo: Diecisiete de Marzo, Futuros de la Patria, Ciudad del Norte, and Juan de Dios Zarate in risk prevention.

A total of 30 students, from the aforementioned career, are part of this linking project that will be carried out in two stages over two years.

Henry Aguilera, project coordinator, commented that it is important to be prepared in case of emergency, as disasters tend to occur at unimaginable times; he also indicated that this project is a pilot plan and that it is planned to continue implementing it in schools in the future.

Emma Aguilera, Municipal Education Coordinator, expressed her gratitude to UTEQ for their interest in training children and saving lives; she also commented that 700 students and 35 school teachers will benefit from these workshops.
