These began with a Scientific Day and culminated with a Solemn Session

The celebration began on 7 September with a Scientific Day, while on 8 September the FCI held an Open House of Integrating Projects from all the courses offered by the faculty. More than 25 projects were presented by the engineering students, including technological products,food, mechanical, robotic and industrial products, among others, which won the admiration and congratulations of the authorities and visitors

The celebration of UTEQ's youngest faculty culminated with a solemn session on 9 September in the UTEQ auditorium, attended by the main authorities of the institution.

During the event, Jorge Murillo, dean of the FCI, presented his report on his work from September 2016 to September 2017, in which he thanked the Rector of the university for his support. Murillo also indicated that the faculty has 79 teachers, 90% of whom already have master's degrees and 9 teachers have already obtained PhD degrees. For this reason, the Dean congratulated the teachers who have obtained their PhD degrees during this period, Dr. Orlando Erazo, Dr. Byron Oviedo and Dr. Cristhian Zambrano.

As for the new Engineers of the Republic, 139 professionals have been incorporated, of which 91 chose the research project modality and 48 took complex exams.

The Dean indicated that this year physics laboratories have been put into operation, including level 3 mechanics, thermology laboratory, electricity and electronics laboratory, and robotics laboratory. During the ceremony, awards were presented to the most outstanding employees: best teacher Ines Bajaña, recognition for their work performance Carlos Andrade and Virginia Zambrano, best worker Angel Ube, best student Kasandra Vera. Recognition was also given to several employees for their years of service in the institution: for 10 years of service José Villaroel and for 15 years of service Ivan Jaramillo and Agustín Díaz.

FCI also incorporated 6 new professionals Days after celebrating its anniversary, the Faculty of Engineering Sciences awarded 6 new professionals in the careers of Agroindustrial Engineering (4) and Mechanical Engineering (2). The event took place on September 15 in the auditorium of the same with the presence of faculty authorities, parents and special guests.

Jorge Murillo, Dean of FCI, congratulated the new engineers and encouraged them to continue preparing for their Master's degree. He also wished them every success in this new stage of their professional life.
