On the occasion of the twenty-sixth anniversary of the Faculty of Livestock Sciences, Scientific Conferences were held for the three careers offered by this Academic Unit.


In the agricultural and livestock area, the topics offered to students of the same degree were: Agrarian situation and the human right to adequate food (DHANA) in Ecuador, Microbial population during the fermentation process of cocoa through the addition of musaceae, Biotechnology linked to the management of pests and diseases through the application of PGPR, Genetic analysis of resistance to bacteriosis in common bean, and Determination of resilience indicators in monoculture and mixed production systems in musaceae.

While for the zootechnical area the topics were the following: Characterisation and nutritional valuation of passion fruit peel used in animal feed, Analysis of traditional pig production systems in the rural areas of the Colonche parish of the Santa Elena canton, Ecuador; Biofloc system in fish farming, Meat quality in livestock species, and Morphometric and molecular characterisation of Creole cattle in the province of Manabí.

On the other hand, in the area of food, the topics taught to the students were: Alcoholic beverage type wine from Tommy Atkins mango with the addition of sweeteners, Effect of cocoa shell mucilage in the clarification of sugar cane juice of the Ragnar variety, Agrocalidad management in food safety, and Bromatological and microbiological characterisation of flour based on cocoa shells for the production of biscuits.
