The Faculty of Livestock Science, through the Agricultural and Animal Husbandry course, held a lecture on 'Diagnosis and Prevention of Fusarium Tropicalis Race 4'.

The talk was aimed at students, producers, traders and the community in general.
Karina Solís, Iniap researcher, and Carlos Falconí from the Association of Banana Producers of Ecuador were the speakers at the conference.
Yenny Torres, dean of Livestock, commented that these trainings are very necessary and important since this disease that affects the banana sector is already present in neighbouring countries.
"We need to train our students and producers to know about this disease that can cause many losses in banana plantations in Ecuador," said Torres.
