Faculty of Business Sciences celebrated 18 years of creation

The Faculty of Business Sciences (FCE), considered one of the largest in the UTEQ, celebrated its 18th anniversary on 15 February.


For which its authorities celebrated with a well-deserved solemn session. The event was held in the auditorium "D" of the FCE where Mariela Andrade Arias, deputy dean, was in charge of opening the ceremony.

After reading out various congratulatory communications, awards were presented to the most outstanding employees: Teaching Merit, Enrique Intriago Zamora; Labour Merit, Sonia Rosado Montoya. In addition, recognition was given to the student merit of the careers of: Accounting and Auditing Engineering, Ana Rizzo Alarcón; Business Management Engineering, Mayra Logroño Macias; Economics, Joselyn Hoyos Litardo; Financial Management Engineering, María Moreira Bravo; and Marketing Engineering, Yoselyn Romero Velez.

The following teachers also received awards at the ceremony: Badie Cerezo Segovia for 10 years of service to the FCE; Abrahan Auhing Triviño, Aida Palma León and Washington Gallardo Haón for 15 years of service to the faculty; Henry Alarcón López, Franklin Castro Tomalá, Enrique Chalen Escalante and Pablo Parra Silva for 20 years of trajectory at UTEQ; and Carlos Martínez Medina and Victor Bayas Vaca for 25 years at UTEQ.

Employees and workers with between 20 and 25 years of service to UTEQ also received recognition: Omar Huacon Bustamante and Carlos Pilligua Vera for 20 years of service, and José Salazar Fuentes for 25 years of service.

In the same way Hernán ávila Morales, dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of the University of Callao, who was present at the solemn session and was part of the board of directors of the event, received a plaque in recognition of his work and scientific, academic and cultural exchange between the Faculty of Business Sciences of UTEQ and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of the National University of Callao, Peru.

On the other hand, Washington Carreño Rodríguez, dean of the FCE, presented his work report from February 2017 to February 2018 in which he thanked the support provided by the authorities of the UTEQ. Carreño also indicated that the year 2017 was full of challenges as four degree redesigns were approved, such as the Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Auditing.

This year two FCE professors joined the group of PhDs, Mario Pérez Arévalo and León Arguello Núñez; and 12 more are pursuing doctoral studies, 10 in Cuba and 2 in Spain, which will help to significantly improve our scientific production, said Washington Carreño.
