After a year of creation, the Faculty of Education Sciences (FCEdu) has more than 500 students.


The three degree courses offered by the faculty are: Basic Education, Psychopedagogy and Pedagogy of National and Foreign Languages; this was stated by Badie Cerezo, dean of the FCEdu, during her work report at the solemn session of the first anniversary of the faculty's first anniversary..

The dean also mentioned the management carried out during this period 2021-2022, in which she highlighted the increase of the inclusive training system of professionals and academics that promote local and national development in the field of education; currently the FCEdu has 8 full professors, 18 occasional for this First Academic Period 2022-2023; and has 4 professors with academic degree of PhD and 1 in doctoral studies.

Cerezo commented that they are working on new degree projects that will have on-site and virtual modes of study. "The torch of knowledge has been lit, for the FCEdu our star product is our students, it is with them that the wonders of science are innovated. We must not forget that we are the heirs of an academy, that we have in our hands great challenges, to humanise education and make of this legacy a social commitment," the dean concluded her speech.

For his part, Rector Eduardo Díaz said he was proud of the work being done by those who make up this faculty, and reiterated his commitment to support specifically in increasing the number of tenured professors for this academic unit and student mobility.

The anniversary ceremony was held on 11 August in the Carlos Cortaza González auditorium, attended by special guests, university authorities, academic and administrative directors, teachers and students.

At the event, the most outstanding students and staff members of the faculty received awards and recognition. For academic merit: Lorenzo Figueredo and Isabel Pérez; for student merit: Sharon Barreto, Basic Education; Shirley Ureta, Psychopedagogy; Martha Cabrera, National and Foreign Languages Pedagogy and Best student of the faculty; for research merit: Miriam Cárdenas; for labour merit: Best employee, Daysi Tello; Best worker, Cristóbal Cedeño. Recognition for 25 years of service was also given to the teacher Pablo Parra, and to the FCEdu's Service Assistant, Juan Becerrín.

For its part, the FCEdu also gave recognition to the three main authorities of the UTEQ for the creation and support of this academic unit.
