Students from the Industrial Safety and Occupational Health course at the Quevedo State Technical University drew up emergency plans for different municipal schools in Quevedo.

Irene Bustillos, UTEQ teacher and coordinator of this activity, indicated that this project lasted four months, and 21 students participated, distributed in four groups, one group for each school. The beneficiary institutions were: "Ciudad del Norte", "17 de Marzo", "Futuros de la Patria" and "24 de Mayo". According to Bustillos, the students first evaluated and measured the risks to which the members of the respective educational units were exposed, and based on this they constructed emergency plans. The closing ceremony of this project was held in the FCI auditorium in the presence of university directors, staff from the Quevedo Development Department, parents and children from the schools where the work was carried out. This project is developed in the framework of an agreement between UTEQ and the Municipal Government of Quevedo.
