At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, students from the Agro-industry course taught members of this congregation how to make "Frankfurt" sausage step by step.

During the production process, the participants learned the technical formula for making 2 kg of pork sausage. Here they learned about the raw materials, percentages and kilograms needed to make it.

The main objective of this project is to exploit the skills of each person through the knowledge provided by the students. This allows the students of this career to reinforce their competences for a better performance in their professional life.

A total of 60 students have participated in this training project in which the participants have learned to make different products, including: food products such as jam, cheese, yoghurt, sausage, candied and dehydrated fruits, alcoholic beverages, nectars; and non-food products: soaps, disinfectants, detergents, softeners, among others.

José Villarroel Bastidas, director of the project and career coordinator, indicated that this work has been carried out since 2015 in different cantons such as Valencia, Buena Fe, Quevedo and Mocache, that is, the entire area of influence of the UTEQ.

"These courses have been offered to different communities, associations, guilds and in this case church congregations, with the aim of transmitting the knowledge acquired in the classroom," added Villarroel.
