The Quevedo State Technical University is in the process of drawing up the Strategic Plan for Institutional Development (PEDI) 2021-2025.

In this new planning during the months of August, September and October 2020, several meetings have been held for the institutional diagnosis.

Under the coordination of the Administrative Vice-Rector's Office and the Directorate of Planning and University Development, working groups have been set up in the substantive functions of the university, i.e. teaching, research, networking and management (institutional conditions). During the socialisations, the regulations, guidelines and timetables for the elaboration of the Strategic Planning 2021-2025 were presented.

For this new PEDI, UTEQ has focused on strengthening the standards that allow the university to continue to position itself as a sustainable, inclusive and visible institution at national and international level. Roberto Pico, administrative vice-rector, indicated that it is important to create a PEDI that has the collective participation of the institution, that is, authorities, directors, coordinators, teachers, employees, workers and students of the UTEQ. "Our goal is to substantially improve the university in the next five years," added Pico. For his part, Luis Plata, director of Planning and Development, commented that the opinion of the university community is important for the progress of the project, being vital to identify proposals, or at the same time to generate them. To this end, surveys will be carried out to analyse improvements to the new PEDI. "Among the things we must establish for this planning is to define what the results are in each of the functions, what are the goals to be met and in what timeframe, and based on that determine whether the objective has been met. This will allow us to achieve efficient management with positive results," Plata said.
