Conferences with various scientific themes and the First Agricultural Research Day were organised by the authorities and teachers of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.


Experts participated in these conferences and presented topics such as: "A micro-world in biological control: The endophyte Trichoderma Pers"; "Panama Disease: threat to the production of musaceae for Latin America"; "Integrated management of the main insect pests of bananas: Advances in the management of red spot"; "Advances in the genetic improvement programme for Japonica rice"; "Macro propagation of musaceae in thermal chambers: An economical and easily accessible technology for small and medium-sized producers"; "Integrated management of the main phytosanitary problems with high productivity cultivars as a basis for the development of the national coffee sector", among other topics that are of vital importance for agriculture. This extensive training and knowledge updating programme was held in auditorium "D" of the Faculty of Business Sciences on 19, 20 and 21 July. The day culminated with the presentation of an Open House entitled "Agriculture and Environmental Capital" where the students of the different careers of the FCA were the protagonists of the aforementioned exhibition by presenting advances in research work carried out with the support and guidance of their teachers.
