Rector Yenny Torres led a UTEQ delegation at The Ohio State University, visiting Columbus and Wooster campuses to explore new academic and scientific opportunities for the university community.
The State Technical University of Quevedo (UTEQ) took its international academic agenda to The Ohio State University (OSU) in the United States, where its delegation visited the Columbus and Wooster campuses between 18 and 25 October 2026.
The visit, led by Dr Yenny Torres Navarrete, Rector of UTEQ, provided first-hand insight into specialised centres, laboratories, and facilities dedicated to research, innovation, and training across various fields related to the agricultural sector and applied sciences.
At the Columbus campus, the delegation learnt about experiences related to sustainability and carbon management, food science and technology, agricultural economics, entomology, and plant pathology. Meanwhile, in Wooster, they toured facilities associated with horticulture, agronomic crops, and animal sciences, observing processes and technologies applied to research and production.
The itinerary also featured a working meeting regarding the Ohio International Internship Program (TOP), aimed at creating opportunities for practical experience and exposure to international professional environments for students and graduates, in accordance with the requirements established by the program.
This visit enabled UTEQ authorities to study research and training models developed at an international university, identifying experiences that can contribute to creating new academic and scientific opportunities for the university community.
