Under the motto “Research in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” the event addressed the impact of AI on research and knowledge generation across various disciplines. Over the course of three days, eight specialised symposia were held on biotechnology, social sciences, engineering, and health, where more than 150 international speakers presented the latest advancements and current challenges in their fields.

The opening ceremony was attended by academic authorities, who highlighted the relevance of the congress in the context of technological advancements. In his speech, the Rector of UTEQ, Eduardo Díaz, emphasised the key role of AI in research and its potential to generate solutions to global problems.

For his part, Carlos Zambrano, Director of Research at UTEQ, stressed the importance of artificial intelligence as a transformative tool in higher education. “Today, research is undergoing an unprecedented shift. AI not only enhances our analytical capabilities, but also challenges us to innovate and rethink traditional methods. At UTEQ, we are committed to fostering the development of knowledge that contributes to the progress of society,” he stated.

CIDU 2025 concluded successfully, establishing itself as a benchmark in interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in university research.
