Training on good environmental practices for Quevedo merchants

Through an agreement between UTEQ and the GADM of Quevedo, students of Environmental Engineering and Food Engineering together with the Directorate of Environmental Management and Hygiene of Quevedo.


A total of 150 proponents of various economic activities that are developed in the cantonal jurisdiction are trained.

The aim of these trainings is to advise traders or entrepreneurs of Quevedo on good environmental practices focused on waste management and manufacturing.

The activity began on 3 September and ends on 24 September. The topics of the training are the following:

  • Inorganic waste management with a focus on plastics.
  • Organic waste management with a focus on composting.
  • Environmental good manufacturing practices with a focus on food safety and resource optimisation.
  • Hazardous waste management (hydrocarbons - tyres).
