From very early on Thursday 18th May, a medical brigade of podiatry and visual examination was carried out and approximately 100 people were attended in visual examination and 20 in podiatry.

This community outreach activity was developed thanks to the communion of ideas between the Quevedo State Technical University (UTEQ) and the Daniel Arroyo Foundation.

Carmen Valenzuela, beneficiary of the eye exam, arrived at the university premises very early in the morning accompanied by her daughter Adela Lara. She said she was satisfied with the good treatment she received from the organisers of the charity event.

In this activity, glasses were given to those who needed them, while the podiatrist examined patients for diseases related to fungus and spurs. Guadalupe Murillo, Academic Vice Rector of UTEQ, said that other activities such as cataract examinations or operations would be carried out in the future. Daniel Arroyo, president of the foundation of the same name, said he was happy to support the Medical Brigade in collaboration with the university.

We are going to continue with this activity as other campaigns are planned in which we will be coordinated by the Academic Vice-Rectorate of UTEQ," Arroyo said.
