During the session, the Dean of the faculty, Ignacio Sotomayor, delivered his management report, presenting the activities developed in the perspective that this unit will always be a protagonist in the contribution of the academy to the progress of the agricultural sector. The Dean also thanked all the people who supported the anniversary activities. Rector Eduardo Diaz in his speech highlighted the growth that the faculty has had, being the first to emerge along with the university, has been maintained and has made efforts to become stronger every day.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

In this ceremony, awards were also presented to the most outstanding employees: Best Professor of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences: Eng. César Varas Maenza; Best Worker: Gimmy Párraga Mora and Best Student of the faculty of the academic period 2016-2017 Brayan Barragán Vera. In addition, awards were presented to retired professors: Alfonso Vasco Medina, Francisco Mite Vivar, Biochemist Julio Moscoso Blanco and Gonzalo Muñoz Loor, an administrative employee who also retired. The merits of the best students were recognised, as follows: for Agronomy Engineering, Josselyn Vélez Ruíz received a diploma; for Agronomy (Redesign) Carmen Cedeño García; for Agricultural Business Administration, Brayan Barragán Vera received recognition and for Agricultural Economics, Josselyn Macías Figueroa received a diploma.

The teachers and administrative staff of this faculty also received distinctions for their years of service in the faculty. Pedro Rosero Tufiño, received recognition for his 30 years of academic service; Jorge Mendoza Mora, for his 25 years of teaching and Victor Guevara for his 15 years of teaching.
