The event was held at the institution's sports complex on 7 December and was attended by the directors and members of the association, authorities and special guests.

The event was opened by Elena Moreira, president of the AET, who also presented her 2016-2017 work report to those present. "At all times we have acted with absolute responsibility and honesty in each of our activities and actions, that is why in these 33 years of creation of the AET I express my affection and consideration to each of our members," said Moreira. In addition, on this anniversary, several awards were presented to servers and active members of the association, for 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service. Retired colleagues who belonged to the Association of Employees and Workers of the UTEQ were also recognised. Evelyn Martinez was also recognised for her two periods of service to the AET. Eduardo Díaz, rector of UTEQ, in his speech congratulated the AET and its directors for the work done throughout this year and indicated that in the next period the association will continue to have the full support of the authorities. "Next year will be a year of achievements for the AET, we will unite in various aspects for the benefit of the guild," concluded Díaz.
